I've been making a series of quilts about hugs, so arm templates hang next to my sewing space. This smaller piece was made in parallel with other projects.
So many ideas in my head, it’s very easy to get distracted.
This hangs next to my workspace, and reminds me, where you choose to put your focus matters!
Entirely recycled fabrics. Vintage antimacassar (with machine embroidery). Needle-turn appliqued hands (made from a vintage linen circular table cloth, the right hand has an old darn at the edge; I pieced the left hand together to use as much of the beautiful scalloped edge as I could!) Embroidered text and French knots.
Quilt back: a small cotton table cloth with a crocheted edge.
Batting: recycled from thermal lining of vintage curtains.
Quilted by hand with vintage threads.
Integral hanging sleeve, with young hazel twigs, cut the day I finished the quilt.
Signed on the back with a simple, embroidered G.
